Kevin Gates denied bail while new track, "What If" hits past 3M views

It's been months since Kevin Gates fans have heard new music and in spite of his legal woes, the song "What If" surfaced on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music just a week ago. The song, "What If," poses the question "What if God was one of us?" The hook lingers into scenarios God may encounter as "one of us"  stemming from finding love in the club to trying to get out of the slums. The song is a transfiguration of Joan Osborne’s 1995 hit “One of Us" and has reached over three million views on YouTube.

Gates was denied bailed by an Illinois judge and will remain in jail on weapon charges until the end of the case. It is uncertain why his bail was denied and the dates for the next hearing are still unknown. For now, Gates will remain in the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville, Illinois.
