Summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime!

We just kicked off summertime! The 1st Annual Rock For Autism Benefit was a great start to our fun in the sun summer, 2014. On behalf of our sponsors, Indo Jax Surf Charities, Surfers Healing, and Forever Original, we would like to all thank you for your support of the 1st Annual Rock For Autism 2014. There is no way we could have done this without you!

We are excited to report that we raised a great amount of funds to contribute to the August, 2014 Autism Camp. A lot of families came out and hung out at Courts & Sports on Saturday, May 24, 2014. The music was simply great. The dodge ball tournament was an epic hit. There were over 12 teams including 5 children's team. We also had a special appearance by Leonardo of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. By the end of the evening everyone was having a blast and kids were running around face painted. It was truly an evening to remember for all.

Forever Original is excited to announce that we will be volunteering at this year's surf camp. The planning for the 2nd Annual Rock For Autism will commence in at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. Please let us know if you would like to get involved in next year's festivities.

About Indo Jax Surf Charities & Surfers Healing

Indo Jax Surf Charities

Indo Jax Surf Charities is committed to empowering disadvantaged, medically fragile and special needs children by exposing them to the ocean environment and teaching them to surf. We believe that the ocean and learning to surf has profound healing properties and can build self esteem in children with special needs.

We provide these surf camps at no charge to the participants. Children who participate in our surf program inevitably move from a feeling of skepticism and reluctance around the ocean to empowerment and confidence, a sense that if... "I can do this, I can do anything!"

Surfers Healing Wrightsville Beach

Through the transformative experience of surfing, Surfers Healing attains greater mainstream acceptance for both the families of and the kids living with autism.People seem to have a lot of pre-conceived ideas about what kids with autism can or can't do. We're here to change those notions forever. Surfers Healing has spent the last fifteen years taking children with autism surfing. Our goal is to help foster the understanding and acceptance of autism.

With the help of incredible volunteers and a team of the most amazing surfers in the water, Surfers Healing is making a difference in the lives of families and kids living with autism. Last year we took out over 4,500 kids. Next year we plan to take out even more. Our Mission, with your help, is to keep our camps completely FREE. In 2014, we plan to add a program to sponsor families who are unable to afford the trip to a Surfers Healing camp.
